The promise

« I’ll never do it again », but I did it even so

Because I didn’t know that the pain

Would stay more than a little mo

« I’ll never do it again », I said to my friend Jo

And I pronounced it as a vow while we were walking under the rain

But I knew she didn’t trust me, oh no

« I’ll never do it again », I just wanted to be sane

I just wanted to remove this stain

But I was already on the wrong lane

And all my efforts remained vain

“Henceforth I’ll do it again and again”…
